We talked with Berlin based jewellery designer Saskia Diez.

Hi Saskia, Can you tell us a little bit about your background and what inspired you to create your jewellery line?

I did a lot of tinkering when I was a kid, mostly jewellery. I did a classic formation as a goldsmith and then studied industrial design. When I started my brand there was no jewellery that attracted me or that I could afford. Nothing that felt like “me”. So I decided to create pieces for people like me and worked on quality, design and affordable prices.

What inspires you in your aesthetics and design process?

People, attitudes, vibes, techniques, moods, music, film and art.

How does sustainability affect your choices when it comes to design and materials?

We work with recycled materials, we produce locally, we maintain longterm relationships with the people producing for us, we reduce waste, use of paper, and we try to improve every day.

Do you have any special projects coming up that you want to share with our readers?

The next thing will be a set of tarot cards that I painted by hand, based on the classic rider Waite Tarot, where all the characters wear jewelry of mine.

Any inspiring artists, brands, or anything else you would recommend to follow right now?

Litkovska, Bevza, Lutz Huelle, Tom Rebl, Eva Baales, Sigrid Reinichs, Aino Laberenz
